With the introduction of the new Personal API (free), individual traders no longer need to pay ₹2000/month for API access. You can now use Zerodha’s APIs for your personal trading automation — at zero cost.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through the complete step-by-step process to:
✅ Create a new Personal API app on the Zerodha developer portal
✅ Configure it properly for Algomojo
✅ Link it to your Algomojo account and start trading
🧭 Step-by-Step Guide
🔹 Step 1: Login to Zerodha Developer Portal
Visit: https://developers.kite.trade/
Login using your Zerodha credentials.
🔹 Step 2: Create a New Personal API App
- Click on “Create New App”
- Select App Type as “Personal”
🔹 Step 3: Enter App Details
Fill out the required fields as follows:
- App Name:
Algomojo - Zerodha Client ID: Enter your Zerodha client ID (e.g., CC1234)
- Redirect URL:
https://ze.algomojo.com/arrow-connect/am/login-response?id=YOUR_CLIENT_ID- 🔸 Note: Replace
YOUR_CLIENT_IDwith your actual client ID.

🔹 Step 4: Copy Your API Credentials
Once the app is created, copy the following:
- API Key
- API Secret
🔹 Step 5: Configure Algomojo with Your Free API
- Visit: https://am.algomojo.com/#/
- Select Zerodha from the broker list and click “Login to Broker”
🔹 Step 6: Register Your API Details in Algomojo
- In the login modal, click on “New User Registration”
- Enter:
- Your Zerodha Client ID
- New API Key
- New API Secret
Click Submit, then Close the modal.
🔹 Step 7: Login and Start Trading
- Now in the same login modal, enter your Zerodha Client ID.
- Click Login
- You will be redirected to Zerodha’s login page.
- After successful login, you’ll land on the Algomojo homepage.
🎉 You are now ready to automate your trades using Zerodha’s free Personal API on Algomojo!
⚠️ Important Note
If you’re unable to login after registering the API Key and Secret with Algomojo:
🔁 Go back to the Zerodha Developer Portal,
🔐 Regenerate the API Key and Secret,
📋 Register the new credentials again in Algomojo,
🟢 Then click Login to Broker — you will now be redirected properly to the Zerodha login page.
This is a common issue if the previous API session expired or the key was used before registration. A fresh API Key/Secret solves the problem.
